Coming to a close

So this afternoon we are all getting together to complete our video for submission to youtube. we pretty much know what we want to convey, but of course the longest part will be the editing of the video. and eventhough this semester is coming to a close most of us are looking to stay on board with helping GRAFFITI after the semester is over. We don't want to be rushed with our video for GRAFFITI, which is seperate from our youtube class video, because we would really like for it to be professional looking and be able for Davin to use in promoting the name. Also, Jason is looking to have everything in order to have the Student Organization running before next semester, Brian is looking to see about helping with any video editing as well as some more of the technical side to help out, and myself (Joe) am looking forward to do more sales for GRAFFITI to generate more revenue for them.

Student Orgnanization

I met with Dr. Leffel this Friday to get some papers signed in order to get our student organization started. I will be turning in all paper work to get The Graffiti Foundations student organization started on Monday. We are getting a student organization together to help out Davin, how exciting! Also, Dr. Leffel said that she would help us with a supply of students to keep the organization's member numbers up. See everyone tomorrow.

Presentation

We are making a presentation this week for our Business Entrepreneurship class. Getting together to put our slides together is a challenge with the ending of the semester coming so soon. The editing of the video is coming together nicely. Stay tuned..."Viva Fiesta"

Still in progress

I spoke with WOAI this morning and they informed that they still have interest in shooting a story for the Graffiti Foundation. It doesn't look like it is going to happen during this semester, but the foundation will still eventually get the publicity. I have started the process of creating a student organization for the Graffiti Foundation. Looking forward to being involved in to the growth of the Graffiti foundation for years to come. We need to start getting non-graduating SBE majors interested and signed up.

So we are looking forward to getting some more shots of Davin tonight inside the Bluestar Brewery. Brian's video equipment has come in very handy with doing the editing to get our video as professional as we can make it. We have pretty much clarified what we want Davin to say so that it comes across in our video much more fluid. Along with that we are working on how to tie in WOAI doing a story on GRAFFITI with Don's and Ben's wanting to get a mural done at one of their southside locations. Jason made a connection with WOAI and we were hoping to get them a story for GRAFFITI this saturday, but now since GRAFFITI will not be doing anything this Saturday we are still looking to use that connection with WOAI to maybe tie in with Joe's connection he made with Don's and Ben's Corporate. Joe had a meeting with Director of Operations for Don's and Ben's and they really liked the shot glasses that GRAFFITI has to offer so they are going to look at maybe making a purchase of several shot glasses. Furthermore, the Director of Operations seemed very interested in wanting to get a mural or murals done at some of their southside locations. So we are looking to capitalize on this connections and get more exposure to GRAFFITI.

Some more footage

We are

We are in the process of preparing Davin for some more filming. We got a lot of good information the first time around but we have decided that our message needs to be scripted. We are trying to create dialog that is simple and concise, but still retains the emotional appeal that we are shooting for.

LAST WEEK IN SHORT

Okay so to wrap up last week it was a pretty busy week to say the least. Upon getting the news that GRAFFITI would not be entered in the Pepsi competition we have not dwelled on that long and have moved on to other promotions for GRAFFITI. Jason talked with WOAI to hopefully get some more exposure to the name of GRAFFITI. Joe talked with a rep for Don's and Ben's corporation here in San Antonio on Wednesday to hopefully get them buying the GRAFFITI shot glasses in bulk. Joe will have another meeting with them tommorow to present them with what GRAFFITI has to offer. We also got together as a group and met with Davin and had an interview with him about some of the things we plan to use in our video for promoting GRAFFITI. Now what we plan to this week is get some film of one of the artists doing a sketch to also use in our video. As well as actually editing the video which will take some time.

Breaking News!

Well, possibly. I spoke with News 4 WOAI (my personal favorite) today and there is a great possibility that we be receiving some great PR on the nightly news. The best part about it is WOAI is heavily involved in the Race for a Cure, and guess what….we cure have t-shirts to sell! Fingers crossed everyone this could be great.

Project T-Shirt

To start our T-Shirt campaign and promotions. Jenny will be wearing one on wednesday to class! You will be able to help out Graffiti Foundation by making a purchase or donation to our cause! Help us support!

Public Official

I talked to Sheriff Chris LeBlanc last week about making a public statement on our promotional video. He said that he would be more than willing to “talk up” the Graffiti Foundation, pending a request from his Sergeant. I spoke with him earlier today and he said that his request is making its way through the approval process. We should know more about his availability later this week.

also, to add on to the last comment we just got an email from Davin about shirts that the Graffiti foundation is trying to promote for the Race for the cure. So we are going to see how we can also expand on that to give them more exposure.
Ok so we just found out that GRAFFITI was not accepted to be one of the canditates for the Pepsi challenge. although we were planning a major marketing campaign for this to get GRAFFITI as much exposure as possible and to get as many people to vote for this as possible this is no longer an option so we are currently working on different ideas and will get together tonight to discuss them and implement them ASAP.

Story Boarding a Promotional Video

Well, we have planned to meet this weekend to film some footage that will be apart of a promotional video for Graffiti Foundation. I am excited about what this video has the potential to do for the foundation and the kinda of opportunities that it will open up. It took a little while to secure a good weekend that works for the team at the same time the equipment would be available but it is happening now. We hope to get some good shots of downtown buildings with graffiti on them...maybe a few shots of some inner city kids walking the streets somewhere and much much more...the creativity of our team has made this video a fun fulfilling project to work on...Stay tuned for a creative and dynamic video drawing a picture of what Graffiti foundation represents in a very real way...

Banker to the Poor

Banker to the Poor is the story of one man dream, which ended up helping thousands across the world. Muhammad Yunus vision “helping people help themselves”. Believing all the people needed was financial help in the form of a small loan and some education on the principal of managing money. He believed the rest would follow and they could do for themselves better than they ever imagined before.

He took his idea and started the Grameen Bank in 1983, which focused on giving micro- loans to people who had no collateral or other financial backing. Grameen Bank, based on the belief that credit is a basic human right, not the privilege of a fortunate few, now provides over 2.5 billion dollars of micro –loans to more than two million families. Most of Grameens clients are women around 94%. The repayment rates are nearly 98%. He used his idea to build a bank that creates an opportunity for everyone.

On another note...

I have put some video clips of various graffiti artist to spice up our blog spot. Also, there are now links down at the bottom of our blog that are linked to Davin's mother pages.

Could be nice...

It would be nice if we could possibly team this foundation and The Graffiti Foundation. Check out the website, and let's get Davin involved.

Getting the ball rollin'...

Alright folks...this project is officially starting to make some progress. I sent in our wallpaper request to the administrator yesterday, still waiting to hear back from him. Joe is following up with Hobby Lobby, Loves, and other businesses to try to creat some reoccuring business for the Graffiti Foundation. And Brian and Jenny are working with Daving to begin the process of transforming the Graffiti Foundation in to a nonprofit. We have a lot on our plate, but I think we can accomplish all of these here soon. Keep up the hard work Group 7!
